Sied van Riel
'Audio 52'
Ah, good old December! Feels like a prime time for one of our (semi)-regular Rielity checks! So we took a trip to Sied-side to see what the charismatic deck-wrangler's been up to of late and what’s on his 12 o’clock horizon. As it turned out... a fair bit!
First and foremost Sied has a new single out any day now, extra-notable for a number of reasons. Coming under the enigmatic title ‘Audio 52’, it probably won’t surprise you to learn that it’s an instrumental outing! Stylistically it builds with low-end tech horsepower, but isn’t shy with the synths when it gets down to the business end of the break. Hard, and intriguingly with a perceptibly Dutch tough-drum house after-touch, it’s coming through Captivating Records. Thus ‘Audio 52’ (a reference to how many separate audio tracks it took to produce apparently!) represents the first Van Riel production to be released through the Armada powerhouse. And into 2012 there’s plenty more on the way, including perchance a debut album! Talking of 2012, as we’re in the middle of EDMs most concentrated party period, where does Sied find himself come NYE? Well it couldn’t be much closer to T.I.’s home-base. Come the 31st he’ll be bidding sayonara to 2011 in some illustrious company. Alongside Richard Durand, Dash Berlin, Judge Jules, Marcel Woods (to name just a few), he’ll be deck-side at Ferry Corsten’s Full On Ferry: London event at the O2 Academy in Brixton. Think we might just pop our heads around the door for that one!!
